I'm Obsessed

I'll admit it...I have a problem...an addiction....yes to music.

But more significantly to 'Villagers'

I think I mentioned them in my top 10 songs for a week weeks ago. Either way they are simply amazing. Its like Pink Floyd but acoustic and without all the crazy effects.
The album 'Becoming A Jackal' is pure magic. Magnificent lyrics, music and the music videos are creepy. What more could I want in a band. You see that's the thing about Villagers: the album is recorded by Conor O'Brien alone BUT they're still a band! Give them a listen and I'm sure you'll agree, they most certainly are not singer-songwriter. Another interesting comparison my friend gave was 'Coldplay but with spirit and they're interesting' sums it up really.

Purely addictive stuff. Can't wait to get myself a concert ticket its bound to be amazing. Serious 'watch this space' and by 'this space' I mean the force Villagers are sure to become. I called it people.

The best thing about all this is that Conor O'Brien himself confessed that the album could have been better...which when you consider it was nominated for a Mercury Award and hit the top ten in many album charts is pretty amazing!

Really this is well worth a listen so go do it @ 'Villagers'

Is there anybody out there?

Hello all you non-commenting readers! I'm sure you're out there....and that you exist.

Well I'm hoping you are there...are you?....Please say yes, I will also accept a 'no' and will greatly appreciate the humour....Or if you'd prefer something a little more profound answer me this: Am I here? Is this even real?

The Beady Boys.
Just to let you know Beady Eye have released  roughly 20 seconds of music onto the internet what do you think:.Beady Eye - 0.22 second preview??

Ok now I've got a problem (other than my evident problems with reality). Hopefully you can offer some opinions...Eric Clapton clearly an amazing guitarist who I doubt has ever played a 'bum' note however I can't decide which I like more Clapton acoustic or Clapton electric? Tell me what you think..

Actually secondary objective: Try find a video of Mr. Clapton playing badly! (I haven't checked yet so I don't really know how easy/hard that would be) Go seek!

Going... going... gone....now to edit

Top Tens.....?

Ok this week I'm gonna do the top ten songs that I've been listening to recently.
Here goes!
Drum roll please!

10: Hashpipe - Weezer (A true classic)
9: Saturday Superhouse - Biffy Clyro
8: Day Tripper - The Hendrix cover ('tis good)
7: Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry
6: On The Run - Pink Floyd
5: Octopus - Syd Barrett
4: Birthday - Kings Of Leon (only good song off their new album if you ask me)
3: No Rain - Blind Melon
2: Twenty Seven Strangers - Villagers
Syd Barrett- Loopy Lyrics

1: Love You - Syd Barrett
That's right I've become slightly obsessed with Mr. Syd Barrett, but when you think about it who wouldn't be? Too crazy for Pink Floyd? Insanely crazy lyrics? And among the madness catchy tunes emerge.....I quote 'Ice Cream?...Scuse me seen you lookin good the other evening'. I highly recommend the recently released 'An Introduction To Syd Barrett' which includes some of his tracks performed with Pink Floyd such as 'Arnold Layne' and 'Bike'.

All the songs mentioned are songs I highly recommend for any music lover although I suppose many of them you will already know. But if not go LISTEN now....well you can make yourself a cuppa first.

*Please note the side affects of listening to the above songs:
1: Your socks may be blown off...I take no responsibility for lost socks, but if anyone has seen my other sock with superman on it size 6-12 I'd like it back.... please.
2: You may experience far fetched dreams...that can happen if you listen to too much Floyd stuff so watch out!

#2

Greetings...
Now being relatively new to the world of blogs, both reading them and writing,(somewhat of a n00b if you will) I decided to start a bit differently than many others. I'm starting on number two....as you can see from the title.

Another different thing I literally just decided to do is to let you know how this will end...you will feel sticky, cheap and used...wait no wrong one... at the end this blog will no longer have any recent or relevant posts and will eventually disappear into the depths of Internet history long forgotten about....drifting into cyberspace clogging it up like the gunk that appears in the filter on the fish tank...so this is really worth no more than fish gunk....that's the last of the fishy stuff I promise.

Fish tank gunk.
But until then I welcome you to my blog where the weird and wonderful meanderings of my mind will be posted, along with my various opinions and ideas on many different topics.

Before I leave you I would like you, whoever it is that stumbles across this post, to try enjoy this blog as long as its relevant/active but also for you to bear in mind that I'm really only doing this out of sheer boredom (hence the name boredblog?) so I don't really care if you abuse me with comments I'll probably just find it funny.

That is all...
